Welcome Back After Veteran's Day

Hi Shamrocks. Hope that everyone had a nice, long and well deserved weekend! The Parent-to-Parent is this week. Please make sure to chek the school's newsletter for the dates. This week the meeting will be right after school. Don't miss out on some very important information and great recourses for everyone. The 1st grade went on their first fieldtrip to a ranch and they had a GREAT time. This week the 2nd graders will be heading to downtown Fayetteville. That should be a great time, as well. We sent out our monthly newsletter this past week. Sorry for the newsletter being late. Things have been very busy for the PTO and we certainly appreciate your understanding. In the newsletter we did let everyone know that due to popular demand the long sleeve T's and Hoodies will continue to be on sale until a week or two before the Chrstmas Break. The exact dates are in our newletter. We hope everyone has a wonderful week and we will see you around the school!

Upcoming Events

Hi Shining Shamrocks. Hope everyone had a nice weekend, and maybe some of you were able to get to the fair. This Monday another Parent-to-Parent Meeting for everyone. This is a great opportunity to get involved in your child's education. This week in the Green Folders we will be sending home flyer's for Fall Candy Grams, picture retakes and Box tops are due. Please remember with the Box Tops that you write the child's name and teacher's name so that proper credit is given to that class. The class with the most Box Tops will win either a pizza or ice cream sundae party. It will be up to the students' as to what they prefer as a reward for winning.

We have placed the long sleeve and hoodie orders. What a success...so many people ordered. As stated on the order forms, the spirit wear will take up to 14 business days from the day of delivery. They will be more than worth the wait.

Book Fair Success

Good morning Shining Shamrocks. We hope that everyone had a long, and exciting weekend. IT was a nice time off after a long Book Fair week. The Book Fair was a success. This year's book fair really had a great selection for all children ages. Family Night went very well, and 10 student's were able to receive a free book after we did door prizes.

Don't forget...this Tuesday, Oct 12th is the deadline for long sleeve T's and Hoodies. Make sure you're ready for the cold with a little bit of School Spirit. The flyers were sent home in the Green Folders last week, but they can also be obtained from the website and our PTO table.

Make sure that you keep collecting those Boxtops. They will be due by the 26th of Oct. You can either send them in as you collect them or send them in all at one time by the 26th!!!! Please make sure that your child's name and teacher are on the envelope/bag.

Happy Monday

Happy Monday to all our Shining Shamrocks! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We finally received rain on Sunday, boy did my grass and plants need it. Last week was a great week. Picture Day went great. The students looked so great. For those parents that ordered packages, it will be several weeks before we will get pictures back. Once they arrive, they will go home with your child. We sent home the order forms for the long sleeve black t-shirts that are exactly the same as the short sleeve ones, just with long sleeves and the new black hoodies. Don't miss out on this great opportunity for when it gets cold. These are pre-orders only and we only do it once a year, so get those orders in by the 12th of Oct. We will send a reminder flyer home in your green folders. Also, please be on the look out for the flyer coming home this week for our first Book Fair this year. Scholastic Book Fairs always sends such great and interesting books for all ages. Oct 4-7th will be the Book fair days, don't miss it. For all our volunteers, I will be sending out emails asking for volunteers shortly. I hope everyone has a great week!

School Pictures and Parent-to-Parent Meeting This Week

Happy Monday to everyone. Curriculum Night was huge success! It was so nice to see familiar faces and new ones as well. We have many new families that have joined us here and McNair, and we will do everything to make them feel welcome. Remember this Tuesday, the 21st, are School Pictures and also that evening beginning at 6pm will be the Parent-to-Parent Meeting and a Pizza dinner. Pre-pay for your dinner tickets and receive $.50 off each ticket. $3.00 at the door and $2.50 when you purchase your pizza tickets online. We look forward to seeing you all there for a very informative evening and social break with a nice pizza dinner.

Make sure that on Tuesday, the 21st, you bring your Carlton Hubbard package back completely filled out with either credit card information filled in and signed, cash or check made payable to "Carlton Hubbard."

Great news...Our school Magnets and water grip bottles have arrived. Please visit the Spirit Wear store or our PTO table to see the things we have. Soon to come, we will be taking pre-orders for long sleeve black t-shirts and black hoodie sweatshirts. Make sure to look for those in upcoming Green Folders.

Curriculum Night and PTO Open Meeting

Popcorn Friday was a huge success on Friday! The students were so excited about receiving their popcorn. Thank you to all of our volunteers that worked so hard to make it happen. This week, Monday the 13th, is Curriculum Night and our first PTO Open Meeting of the year. Each of teachers will be going over the academics that are being taught in your child's classroom, strategies to help your children at home and so much more. We will be there to have our Open Meeting. Great News...the McNair water bottles and magnets have arrived, so we will be selling those items that evening as well as the rest of our Spirit Wear. We have seen so many kids really getting into the McNair Shamrock Spirit on Friday's, and they all look so great! We look forward to seeing you all at Curriculum Night. Oh and remember, there is no school on Friday the 17th!

POPCORN FRIDAY THIS FRIDAY, SEPT 10th

We hope everyone had a nice Labor Day! It's that time...POPCORN FRIDAY! This Friday will be our first Popcorn Friday of the year. For those of you that are new to our McNair Family, we pop fresh popcorn for the students for $.25 per bag. The order forms will be coming home in this weeks in your child's folders. We will only be having Popcorn Friday (3) three times this year, so make sure you take advantage of this fun event for the kids. Don't forget Junior Shamrock Play Date on the 9th at 9:30am. This will be a great opportunity for kids to play and parents to meet one another. We look forward to seeing you there. We sent out our first PTO Newsletter last week via email and in the Green Folders. I hope the newsletter gave you a lot of great information on what's coming up. We also sent home the Spirit Wear order forms, so get your Spirit Wear now for Spirit Wear Friday's. Enjoy your week!

Great First Week at McNair

The first week of school was a great success! All the students are already catching on to everything they need to do and know. They are excited and motivated to make this a year to remember. Our first Spirit Wear Friday was a big hit. A lot of students were wearing there Spirit Wear shirts and accessories. If you have not gotten yours yet, please visit our site or our PTO table located on the 3rd and 4th grade side of school for ordering forms. We have a lot of fun stuff coming up, so please keep checking back for upcoming events.

And We're Off!

McNair School had its annual open house last night. The children and parents were able to view the school and meet the teachers.

It was a big night for the PTO as well. We have been working hard all summer to prepare for Open House. And this year we have gone high-tech with the debut of our new web site and online newsletter! We have several new Spirit Wear items as well!
